DetailsHere's a scenario:
* /boot is VFAT EFI partition * rootfs is btrfs subvolume * The user downgrades the system by checking out a snapshot, copying the kernel (/usr/lib/modules/KERVER/vmlinuz), and rebuilding initramfs. * There's a discrepancy between /boot/intel-ucode.img version and pacman db. Solution: package should install intel-ucode.img to /usr (maybe /usr/lib/intel-ucode/intel-ucode.img) and a proper pacman hook will copy the image into /boot. Now when downgrading the system, the user has the right intel-ucode.img in the subvolume snapshot which can be copied into /boot. |
