Description:

VBoxClient --clipboard terminates silently

Same issue as https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/65542

/etc/xdg/autostart/vboxclient.desktop on the guest is launching /usr/bin/VBoxClient-all which launch all Virtualbox User Sessions Services.

Shortly after launching VBoxClient-all all services are running in double (see screenshot).

After a few seconds /usr/bin/VBoxClient --cliboard dies (see screenshot).

Manually launching /usr/bin/VBoxClient -f -v --clipboard doesn't make the copy/paste between the host/guest working, nothing displayed on sdterr or stdout even when launched in foreground with the verbose flag. It's always dies silently after a few seconds.

I may be a missing dependency like in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/65542#issuecomment-534174428

I can run a strace but I don't understand the output.

I wonder if it is due to this change https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/virtualbox&id=1e54eaa42dc420aa5e7f7938eae9051446a127b5 or if it is an upstream problem.

I'm having the same issue, both shared clipboard and folder don't work between host ( windows 10 ) and guest ( arch ).
As a workaround, I downgraded virtualbox packages to 6.1.2 and clipboard is working now ( shared folders still don't want to mount, complains about bad usage on mount ):

pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/v/virtualbox-guest-modules-arch/virtualbox-guest-modules-arch-6.1.2-13-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/virtualbox-guest-utils-6.1.2-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

The clipboard is fixed with virtualbox-guest-utils 6.1.4-3.
