What AUR pkg and what files do you miss from upstream tarball? What needs to be added to the package?

AUR has a package called hplip-plugin which contains the shared objects. AUR also has the hplip package without those .so files.
The official repo has only the hplip package without the shared objects.

The hplip-plugin package is not included into the hplip pkg for good reason. It's a binary pkg and has a different license.

I see.
The point is that hplip already includes a number of .so objects for printing. The missing ones make scanning impossible.
