Details
There is a bug in freetype versions 2.9 to 2.10.1
(inclusive) which can cause variable fonts to render
incorrectly.
As far, as I understand, the issue is already fixed but is not yet available in any release. Apparently, this patch https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/freetype/freetype2.git/commit/?id=12e4307dc7b48c9a4a4fc3ac6c32220874ab18ec should be applied to fix this issue. I've also confirmed, that the issue is fixed by building freetype2-git, which seems to already include the patch. I would appreciate if you could apply this patch in freetype2 2.10.1-2 Related links: Chromium issues https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=981443 and https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1055113 Debian bug report https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=929982 Google fonts issue https://github.com/google/fonts/issues/2051#issuecomment-510132556 |
