Description:
When using archiso, I wanted to specify the squashfs compression method (gzip, xz, zstd, etc.) and the mksquashfs compression method specific options from build.sh.
I will attach a patch that implements that feature, so I hope you can merge it upstream.
Apply the patch to the latest archiso, 43-1.

@hayao: Thanks for the report and sorry this took so long to respond to.

The compression method (aka. type) selection is already implemented in the current version of archiso (v47).
However, the compression method specific settings are not (yet).

Due to the eventual move to our gitlab I will close this ticket in favor of #54 [1] which tracks the addition of the remaining changes.
