Steps to reproduce:

I cannot reproduce the issue; and you?

Today we have an official site [https://www.memtest.org/] with a living bug tracker [https://github.com/memtest86plus/memtest86plus/issues/] can you it there too?

fwiw: I'm able to reproduce this hang behavior consistently on an old Thinkpad T-510 with 8 GB RAM, in exactly the way that the OP described.

Will file an issue on the github bug tracker if it's not already there.
