This should be split and build lua-penlight, lua52-penlight, and lua51-penlight. The latter one is particularly important because `luajit` is based on that version.

Here are patches to ⓐ update to 1.7.0 and ⓑ split out Lua 5.2 and 5.1 packages.

Since this still isn't dealt with, here is one more patch to add that fixes a build issue with the check stage (and removes a bogus duplicate package name in previous patches).

In addition to the above patches this now needs updating to be based on Lua 5.4 and a split package like the ones I added for other versions needs to be added for Lua 5.3.

Ummm I hate to be obnoxious, but I see that this package has been updated and rebuilt in [testing] as 1.6.0-2 with Lua 5.4 support.

Can we *please* also get some attention to updating this to 1.7 and packaging for Lua 5.1? Also note that 1.8 is imanent with some Lua 5.4 issues fixed. In spite of building cleanly 1.6.x won't play altogether nicely with Lua 5.4.

P.S. I'd love to help with this and other Lua packages rather than spending months patching around this in AUR but need sponsors ;-)

1.8.0 has come and gone.

Lua 5.4 support in [community] has landed and Penlight was rebuilt to use it, but 1.6 doesn't support it properly. 1.8.0 does.

Now 1.9.0 is out.

It's been 11 months since this was flagged out of date.

Can we PLEASE get this bumped?
