Description:

Latest update to nvidia-utils (440.44-2 by grazzolini) broke HDMI output for my laptop (i7-8750H and GTX 1070). External displays and TVs weren't detected anymore by KDE (kscreen). I'm 100% sure the problem is caused by this package as it was the only one that was upgraded between reboots. Switching to AUR package nvidia-utils-beta fixed the problem.

Additional info:

Six lines of code were removed from PKGBUILD. They must've been there for a reason.

I can confirm this. This breaks PRIME auto configuration for me. The beta package fixes the issue.

The topic over in the forum has more details: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=251846.

Adding the following line back into the xorg conf file fixes it for me:

Option "PrimaryGPU" "yes"
