DetailsDescription:
Authentication using ssh passwords or passphrase-protected ssh keys requires a ssh-askpass implementation for pw/passphrase entry. It would be nice if this dependency was declared as an optional dependency in the PKGBUILD. This is however not too pressing, as virt-manager provides an useful error message, stating that an askpass program is required. Arch seems to package multiple implementations (e.g. x11-ssh-askpass, openssh-askpass, lxqt-openssh-askpass, ksshaskpass), but I'm not really sure how they are related and if all actually work (I've tested x11-ssh-askpass). There does not exist a proper category for ssh-askpass programs which one could depend on, I think. Additional info: * virt-manager 2.2.1-2 Steps to reproduce: Install virtmanager without an askpass program being installed and try to connect to a remote host with an passphrase-protected ssh key. |
