Hi! juk stopped working after i upgraded these packages a couple of days ago..

[03/23/04 01:59] upgraded apache (2.0.49-1 -> 2.0.49-2)
[03/23/04 01:59] upgraded bash (2.05b-10 -> 2.05b-11)
[03/23/04 01:59] upgraded codecs (20040304-1 -> 20040321-1)
[03/23/04 01:59] upgraded flac (1.1.0-3 -> 1.1.0-4)
[03/23/04 01:59] upgraded gtk-doc (1.1-2 -> 1.2-1)
[03/23/04 01:59] upgraded k3b (0.11.6-1 -> 0.11.7-1)
[03/23/04 02:00] upgraded kaffeine (0.4.1-1 -> 0.4.1-3)
[03/23/04 02:01] upgraded kdebase (3.2.1-1 -> 3.2.1-2)
[03/23/04 02:01] upgraded kdenetwork (3.2.1-1 -> 3.2.1-2)
[03/23/04 02:01] upgraded libxslt (1.1.2-1 -> 1.1.4-1)

Now when i start it it just spits out this..

[root@localhost /]# juk
kio (KDirWatch): Available methods: Stat, FAM
juk: ERROR: Communication problem with juk, it probably crashed.
[root@localhost /]# KCrash: crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2

KCrash: Application Name = juk path = <unknown> pid = 2099

I hope you can figure out what is wrong, I suspect it has something to do with the upgrade of kdebase but i don't know.. i tried to get a backtrace but I wasn't very succesful.. anyhow, it's my favourite music app so i would appreciate it.. thanx :)

[damir@Asteraceae damir]$ juk
kio (KDirWatch): Available methods: Stat, FAM
kio (KDirWatch): addDir - recursive/watchFiles not supported in KDE 3.0
kio (KDirWatch): Added Dir /home/damir/music [KDirWatch-1]
kio (KDirWatch): Setup FAM (Req 1) for /home/damir/music
[damir@Asteraceae damir]$

for me it works fine --- make sure you have arts and kdemultimedia up to date

ohhh ... just seen: why did you tried to run it as root? it is really not "healthy" to run such programms as root --- maybe it's this problem
Comment by Sebastian Oberg (Bazer) - Sunday, 11 April 2004, 21:44 GMT
ah sorry, i solved the problem quite easily.. i deleted the cache and playlists and now it works again :) i just didn't think of it.. *doh*
i have no idea what really caused the problem in the first place though..
