"hda_codec: invalid dep_range_val 0:7fff" (this fills totaly my dmesg)
As of 2.6.20 i stop having the PCM slide on kmix, but mplayer still has it on mixer selection and i think there's something wrong with ALSA itself.
about the module: check the kernel mailinglist and bugzilla

I think the bug was related to #6867 ( http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/6867 )
As some time from now, i've changed to mpd+gmpc so I can't reproduce the bug, but I'll gladly install all needed packages to test if needed ;)
