...but FF and Chrome can.
I have been told to report here in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414800
I get this error message: "Loading ‘1.webp’ failed Gwenview cannot display documents of type image/webp."
Does it work for you?

I am using Gwenview 19.11.90 and Qt 5.14.
