Description:

Original flac123 does not support 24bit files.
A fork of flac123 support 24bit files.It is on below link.

https://github.com/larsmagne/flac123

Original version of flac123 0.0.12 was released on 3 May 2012.
The fork's version is 0.0.11.But it was changed on Dec 17, 2018.

Steps to reproduce:
Prepare a 24bit flac file on ~/a.flac.
flac123 ~/a.flac does not play it.

we must not change to a random fork by someone unknown on the internet. a tool that isn't maintained since 2012 (and the otherone except a single patch isn't either) is not a great class of software either.
If at all, that single patch should be pulled into the tree (after careful review) and applied to the original sources.
We are not changing to random malicious sources

Can't we just drop that package and move it to the AUR?
It's orphaned and no other package requires it.

I will move flac123 to the AUR.
There are by now better options to play back FLAC files with less ancient code (e.g. mpv, vlc, mpd, audacious, moc, xmms - to name a few).
