DetailsDescription:
Some time ago, Arch Linux has switched to building xorg-server using Meson. However, this introduced a regression visible for users of very old PCs (like 10 years old): the mouse became uncomfortably laggy. This is because the person who wrote meson.build incorrectly ported detection whether it makes sense to use the input thread (INPUTTHREAD vs HAVE_INPUTTHREAD macro confusion and other issues), therefore it ensed up being always disabled. The bug has been reported upstream as https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/issues/936 Until this is resolved, I suggest that Arch Linux reverts to building xorg-server with autotools. Additional info: Package version: xorg-server 1.20.5-4 What to look for in Xorg.0.log: "silken mouse disabled" (but should be enabled) |
