Details
Description: I've noticed that the new hotfix1 version
requires root permission to mount and unmount volumes. In my
case, I'm mounting as a regular user a volume in my home
directory, and I don't understand why root permission is now
required for this. Same applies to the unmount operation.
Reverting to the previous package version solves the
issue.
In keeping with another thing, I found there is a new patch file (veracrypt-fix-u64-gcc.patch) which is not available in at https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk?h=packages/veracrypt . When can we get it? Thank you. |

If you have a non packaging related issue, its best to contact upstream instead
In keeping with the root permissions issue, is there any reason for this new behavior?
Thank you!
I hope a solution is found soon!

unfortunately, veracrypt-1.24.update3 still requires root password. :-(
EDIT:
I decided to give it another try I found a solution (https://sourceforge.net/p/veracrypt/discussion/general/thread/604d12bba8/#61f8).
Long story short, I had to change my `/etc/sudoers` configuration from:
`%users ALL=(root) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/veracrypt`
to:
`users ALL=(root) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/veracrypt, /usr/bin/uptime`
It's weird, but it solves the issue. I tried multiple times removing the the `uptime` command, and as soon as it do it, the root password is prompted again.
Thank you! :-)
