Description:

After upgrading to xorg-server(-common) to version 1.20.5-4, some applications are lagging.
For example, when scrolling a web page in Firefox, it "freezes" for 1-2 seconds. In Telegram (Messenger), typing a message also lags (the text input doesn't update as I type) for 1-2 seconds.
This goes on and off all the time, it works smoothly for a few seconds, then lags for 1-2s, then works smoothly again for a few seconds.
Some applications don't seem to lag, I tested Google Chrome (yikes), PyCharm, kitty (terminal emulator), to name a few.

I have isolated this issue to the xorg-server package. It is not a lag in applications - I tried to make a screen recording using `simplescreenrecorder` but the lag wasn't seen on the video.
I have isolated this issue to version 1.20.5-4. Previous version (1.20.5-3) works as expected.

I use Archlinux on Dell XPS 9570. I use Intel GPU, Nvidia is switched off using bbswitch package.

Additional info:
* package version(s) = 1.20.5-4
* config and/or log files etc. = nothing custom, please instruct me how to get the logs that might be useful
* link to upstream bug report, if any = not reported upstream

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  Problem with the xf86-video-intel driver which isn't recommended, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Int el_graphics#Installation

Sorry, I should have added [xorg-server] in the summary.

I was experiencing the same symptoms: micro-freezes which rendered my laptop unusable (was driving me crazy).
The culprit was xf86-video-intel. See here:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=250123
After removing it, it came back to normal.

Thank you for your gracious help, kind sir. That solved the issue for me.
