Description:
With mpv 1:0.30.0-2 smplayer always opens a new mpv window (outside the smplayer window) when playing a video. Dowdgrade to 0.29 playbacks video in the original smplayer window.

Seems like it might be fixed but unreleased. I can't even find the latest code, though.

I can also reproduce this with smplayer 19.10.0 and GNOME on Wayland, but not on Xorg.

Reverting mpv to 1:0.29.1-11 or using Xorg allows 19.10.0 to work fine.

Edited on 30 Oct to add that there's also some relation to Wayland.

This is still an issue with smplayer 22.2.0-1 and mpv 1:0.34.1-4.
It happens even with the "Wayland support" check box being ticked (whose description says that it should prevent this issue).
