DetailsDescription: I've noticed we have scala 2.13.0 package available, but unexpectedly there is no longer support for scala 2.12 branch anywhere. Because scala is not backwards binary compatible (as everyone knows), and version 2.13 is still quite new, I think it would be beneficial to have a new package called scala-212 (or similar) with the latest version of the 2.12.x branch. This would be inline with what we have for other languages such as java or node. Most importantly, it will provide with some grace and valuable time for developers to transition to 2.13 carefully, specially due to currently unsupported dependencies.

However, you're always able to provide a PKGBUILD for such a use-case yourself in the AUR.
I still think it would be nice to have it available officially, because developers will still find projects such as https://search.maven.org/search?q=a:log4j-api-scala* which don't have support for 2.13 yet.
Thank you.
