/var/run is no longer created instead /run is so the directory cleaning should be updated to
- "${pkgdir}"/var/run \
+ "${pkgdir}"/run \

Would you accept some other updates for the PKGBUILD that?:
Update to version 6.1.0
Fix firewalld support
Fix seclabel support
Change netcat to openbsd-netcat
Drop unrequired custom LDFLAGS that break full RELRO
Add GPL3 to licenses for linking to libparted
Drop unnecessary exports
Make build more reproducible
Update dependencies

The package is still shipping /run. It shouldn't do that.
