All files in CVS get tagged on release as RELEASE_0_8 or RELEASE_0_7_2. You could change the cvsup files for abs to use those sticky tags instead of CURRENT. Be aware that after a release, nothing is changed on it anymore, so you'll end up with bugs and security problems if you stick to a release.
