Monodevelop on a non-gnome system fails to start, since monospace_font_name is not set in gconf.

Simple fix would be a line as follows, either for the user or in a sheme.
gconftool-2 --type=string --set /desktop/gnome/interface/monospace_font_name "Bitstream Vera Sans Mono 9"

Kind regards,
Georg

The default is Monospace 10, which is set from libgnome post_install. It's weird that your system doesn't have this key pre-initialized.

Hello,

Can be considered as closed.
I set up arch on a vmware today to test this issue, and did not experience any problems (anymore). I don't know how this actually could appear, but this problem occured on two machines (on both i manually entered the command line above).

Kind regards,
Georg
