I believe it has something to do with the latest bash. mc-utf8 in community has already been patched, so maybe the same patch would work here. On the other hand, wouldn't it be better to move mc-utf8 to current instead of mc? It works well here and utf8 is nowadays more or less the Arch default isn't it?

Should be fixed in mc-4.6.1-5 in testing (i686 packages will be available later). Please note that you will also need to update gpm and all packages using it by their version in testing.
