Hello,

on Xfce 4.4 from Extra, the "Quit" dialog can take from 30 seconds to a minute to load up (just tried; it was 10 seconds short of a minute). During this time, all I have is a shaded screen, and I can't do anything but wait for the dialog to show up.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Just to exclude some possibilities, do you have the loopback interface enabled in rc.conf and your machine hostname in /etc/hosts? A no to either of these can cause issues like this..

Fixing up my /etc/hosts seemed to do the trick. I changed it from

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost komputer

to

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain komputer localhost

It loads up instantly.

weird, why should the order matter?
