I also have a problem with the nvidia drivers, since I installed an update of them, with kernel 5.2.14. The screen in firefox is pixelated and hangs. Try changing in preferences of system, the opengl 3.1 and continue the problem, idem with opengl 2.0. Only with xrender it seems that there are no inconveniences. Sorry if these are unrelated issues, within my limited knowledge maybe I can contribute something.

What do you mean exactly by "it doesn't shutdown or reboot"? It hangs during shutdown/reboot?

If your problem is that the computer freezes on shutdown/reboot when using nvidia drivers, I have a similar issue documented here: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1057524/linux/system-seems-locked-while-rebooting-with-linux-5-2-1-and-nvidia-drivers-430-34-or-430-26/1. This seems to be caused by a combinations of linux kernel 5.2+ and a gigabyte motherboard. Try to install linux-lts and see if the problem occurs.

Ok I've solved my problem, I hope in the next versions of linux stable they'll fix all problem with gigabyte.
Thank you so much ;)

P.s: Who have this problem install nvidia-dkms, nvidia-lts doesn't start sddm.
