Details

Description:
on updating to retroarch-1.7.8-1-x86_64, the program no longer launches, instead segfaulting:
$ retroarch
[CDROM] Could not open /dev/sg1, please check permissions.
*** buffer overflow detected ***: retroarch terminated
Aborted (core dumped)

Downgrading back to 1.7.7-1-x86_64 makes it work normally.

* retroarch-1.7.8-x86_64

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install or upgrade retroarch from the community repository, version 1.7.8-1
2. Try to launch it.

Disagree, shouldn't this warrant a bump to a git rev? As it currently stands the package is completely broken, I don't think anything in the official repos should stay in that state as long as we're aware of it even if it means deviating from upstream.

I am also having the same problem.

$ retroarch --version
RetroArch: Frontend for libretro -- v1.7.8 -- 045a4cce10 --
Compiler: GCC (9.1.0) 64-bitBuilt: Aug 26 2019

I get the following error:
[CDROM] No sg devices found and sg kernel module is not loaded.
*** buffer overflow detected ***: retroarch terminated
Aborted (core dumped)

However, retroarch-git works flawlessly
