Description:

Video and audio lag heavily since Linux Kernel v. 5.2 in all applications. Downgrading Kernel and Headers to 5.1.9 always solves the problem. A restart is required after the update or downgrade for the problem to appear or disappear.

Did you try comparing dmesg from boot before and after, anything suspicious?

Have you tried bisecting the kernel to find the causal commit?
Comment by Konrad Dierks (konrad98) - Tuesday, 24 September 2019, 19:42 GMT
As of now, I only now that the causal commit is between v5.1.16 and v5.2.1. When I have some time, I will try bisecting.

Hi,

I have similar issues with two computers using intel graphics.
They both started to seriously lag (graphically) when using linux 5.3 and xf86-video-intel.

The issue has also been discussed here: https://github.com/qutebrowser/qutebrowser/issues/4641#issuecomment-535918017

I forgot to mention that it also happens on Wayland.

This is a duplicate of  FS#63464  which is fixed in linux 5.3.9.1-1 (testing).
