same thing with the zathura, which depends on the libmupdf i guess.

This does actually not only affect the left/right keys but a lot more of the shortcuts. Also, some actual shortcuts now deviate from the man page. Here is a summary of false/changed behavior that I discovered so far:

- Space: changed from <next page> to <pan page down> (man page incoherent)
- b: changed from <previous page> to <pan page up> (man page incoherent)
- =: no function anymore, previously it had the same function as +, that is <zoom in>, which was very convenient.
- .: used to be <jump to next page's head>, now it's <next page>, same function as arrow right or space used to be
- ,: used to be <jump to previous page's bottom>, now it's <previous page>, same function as arrow left or b used to be
- <: <go ten pages back>, now replaced for <decreasing EPUB/XHTML font size>. Also this was very useful especially for large PDF documents.
- >: <go ten pages forth>, now replaced for <increasing EPUB/XHTML font size>. Also this was very useful especially for large PDF documents.
- arrow left: now <pan left>, previously previous page
- arrow right: now <pan right>, previously next page

Overall, I find these changes to impact the user experience negatively. I would be nice, if they could be reverted.

@herrkami I think you should take this (or find this) upstream at https://bugs.ghostscript.com/
I have also experience inconsistencies with mupdf. It is my understanding that the mupdf team nowdays are focused on the mupdf-gl variant (separate package).
