Detailsthunar, xarchiver plugin and xarchiver are installed, but thunar is unable to extract any tarball. It says that no suitable unarchiver found, while it's installed.

Apparently an additional plugin is required (maybe the notification one) that is not included in the default list of dependencies for the xarchiver/thunar plugin. When I installed manually more plugins, the feature started to work. Please revisit the list of your dependencies.

I have encountered a couple of issues with that too, but I don't think it is in the dependency chain. For example if the plugin is still installed but you remove the preferred archiver it won't work without notice and won't reopen the selection dialog to set a new preference. I blame most of that stuff to be upstream. The particular incident described is probably caused by the handlers that thunar uses to do tasks. Removing all archivers eg. still give me the dialogues for "Open with Archive Manager", which means file-roller, for all kinds of archives. These issues can't be solved by dependencies
