I'm currently using Arch with kernel version 5.2.5. I used to be able to run Lollypop with no noticeable errors. I had installed all optional dependencies for the program, and installed youtube-dl as well.

After the latest 1.2.0-alpha1 community-repo update (though, confusingly, the Arch community repo has it at version 1.1.4.8-1, whether running lollypop -v or viewing the version from pamac) for Lollypop, I noticed that the online music search feature was missing, and the Web menu had "Missing youtube-dl command," as if youtube-dl had not been installed. I checked the preferences to make sure that network access was still allowed for YouTube, and it was.

I'm also currently running youtube-dl version 2019.07.02-1.

After running lollypop in the terminal, I noticed the following error:

>\[ERROR\] 2019-08-03 22:44:28 install\_youtube\_dl: g-exec-error-quark: Failed to execute child process “pip3” (No such file or directory) (8)

Additionally, after running Lollypop in debug mode ($lollypop -d), I found the following warning:

>\[WARNING\] 2019-08-03 22:44:03 YouTubeHelper::get\_uri\_content(): g-exec-error-quark: Failed to execute child process “/home/alex/.local/share/lollypop/python/bin/youtube-dl” (No such file or directory) (8)

I've confirmed that there is no /python/bin directory for Lollypop.

I thought that maybe I should run reflector and make sure my repos were up to date:

>reflector --country 'United States' --latest 20 --age 12 --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

This did nothing; I'm still running the alpha, though the community repo still lists it at 1.1.4.8-1.
This task depends upon

This is very old, is it still a thing? I'm very surprised to read that you got an alpha version from the [community] repo, we don't (and history shows I didn't https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/log/trunk?h=packages/lollypop) package alpha versions in our repos unless absolutely necessary.
