According to this message on tlbuild ML: https://tug.org/pipermail/tlbuild/2019q3/004543.html the preferred (by upstream) way to provide dvisvgm is to build it from the official source but not from TL source (as for example it is done for Asymptote). The obvious advantage (besides troubles mentioned in the message) is to update the dvisvgm when new release is out, don't relying on TL source update. For example, the new release 2.7.3 of dvisvgm was made on July 12. |
