After updating Linux kernel to linux-5.2.2.arch1-1-x86_64, my external display stopped working and was not recognized by the system anymore. I couldnt test any other outputs other than the HDMI but downgrading back to linux-5.2.1.arch1-1-x86_64 fixed my issue.

Some HW specs:
* HP omen with GTX 1050 Mobile
* using external display through HDMI
* nvidia drivers nvidia 430.34-1

Did you update the system to nvidia 430.34-2 along with linux-5.2.2.arch1-1?
If so what were the kernel messages from that boot?

no, I didnt update the nvidia drivers since pacman -Syu didnt show any update for the nvidia drivers at the time. Looking now at nvidia-430.34-2 on the package database I can see that it was updated two days ago which is odd since I update my system each morning and I never got that update. Since my Arch box is my office laptop I cant check right now, but will search for the update tomorrow morning and request closure if I am able to get it.

This morning I ran another Pacman -Syu and still I had no update for nvidia drivers. It wasnt until I ran pacman -Syy that the update for nvidia drivers appeared (along with some others). So basically it appears my pacman was out of sync.

Everything seems solved and is working great. Lesson learned too.
