DetailsBind-tools has a dependency on the geoip package. The data files required by geoip (supplied by MaxMind) have not been updated since April 2018 and are no longer available from them as of January 2 2019.
The replacement from MaxMind is the GeoLite2 dataset, packaged by Arch as geoip2-database, libmaxminddb and mmdblookup. Bind-tools can support these data files by compiling with the --with-geoip2 configuration option. (I am aware that GeoLite2 is not a 100% plug-in replacement for geoip.) |

Installed OK over bind-tools-9.14.8-2 - I already had geoip2 installed. However I didn't see the warning about the switch to geoip2, maybe because I don't have the full bind package installed, just bind-tools?

Yes, message is only for named (bind packages). I don't thinks there is geoip2 config changes related to bind-tools.
