DetailsI have a usb modem that runs fine with the slusb module in slmodem in kernels earlier than 2.6.19. But, with the voodoo beta1 kernel (kernel26 2.6.19.2-1), the modem freezes the phone line (picking up a phone reveals no sound at all) after varying periods of time. I'm using slmodem 2.9.11-20 and slmodem-utils 2.9.11-12 from extra. When the modem fails, the message in /var/log/everything.log is:
Jan 25 18:41:03 myhost st7554: fifo underrun! I can restart the modem by stopping the daemon (/etc/rc.d/slmodem stop), then removing the module (rmmod slusb), then modprobing slusb and starting the daemon. It will work for a while, but eventually freeze again. I believe the hardware is ok because it all works well on another linux partition on the same laptop. regards, |
This task depends upon
well problem in binary modules, patching is really difficult, i even don't own such a hardware device.
could you do some searching on google about the issue?
I also have filed a bug at linmodem.org and may have a partial solution from them. I'll test it and report back. For now, I don't need any more from you.
thanks,
thanks for the great job (so far).
