3D models (binary cmod files) of some objects (for example
ISS, Phobos, Deimos, etc.) aren't displayed in Celestia.
This is caused by GCC 4.1.x. There is patch from
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=203525
which should fix this problem. I have tried it and it works
on some models (Phobos, Deimos, etc.), but doesn't fix
spacecraft models (ISS, Hubble, etc. is still not
displayed). Maybe problem with spacecraft models isn'ŧ
related to this "strict aliasing" bug.
I have added this patch to official Celestia PKGBUILD and also modified it to avoid this bug: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=23373 |

Can you test this with 1.5.0, it might (hopefully should) be
fixed.

Just tested it myself, didn't think I had the models, but
apparently I do. Phobos, ISS, Hubble are showing fine here.
