Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  Closing old niche codec requests, these can be compiled in locally, I'd like to keep our ffmpeg relatively slim.

For that I'd need to bring codec2 to [extra], as well as all its dependencies which are currently in [community]. Also codec2 depends on wxgtk3, I definitely don't want to introduce a dependency to wxgtk3 in ffmpeg, so codec2 would have to be split, or the wxgtk parts disabled.

I'll keep this codec in mind, but for now I'd rather avoid bloat and just pipe stuff between ffmpeg and c2dec/c2enc.

In general there is very little demand for this external library in ffmpeg.

Did you just post a comment on a one year old feature request just to say that a feature is not in high demand? Yeah we can see because there is a voting system...
edit: and the fact that it even says "priority: very low" in the bug tracker
