Description:
I recently updated the netbeans package to version netbeans-11.0-0. When starting the IDE the first time after that, I was no longer able to edit previously used PHP projects. Furthermore, the option to create PHP projects was missing as well. I suspected an error in the PHP plugin, which was not installed any longer. However, upon reporting this error upstream (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2475), I was told that netbeans 11 should now ship with out-of-the-box support for PHP. I confirmed this by installing the netbeans 11.0 snap (Build incubator-netbeans-snap-release-10-on-20190404). In the snap version, PHP indeed works out of the box. When creating a new PHP project, it guides through the process of enabling the required plugins. These do not have to be downloaded. This does not work in the repository version, where the option of creating PHP projects is missing entirely. Additional info: * package version(s) netbeans-11.0-0 * config and/or log files etc. Clean profile, log is attached * link to upstream bug report, if any https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-2475 Steps to reproduce: - Install netbeans from the Archlinux community repository (# pacman -S netbeans). - Start netbeans - Go to File -> New Project - Notice that PHP is not one of the offered Categories |
