Whenever I try to remove a package, pacman says that it's unable to remove every file:

$ sudo pacman -Rd mpd
error: cannot remove file usr/man/man5/mpd.conf.5.gz
error: cannot remove file usr/man/man1/mpd.1.gz
error: cannot remove file usr/bin/mpd
error: cannot remove file etc/rc.d/mpd
error: cannot remove file etc/mpd.conf.example
(1/1) removing mpd [#################################################################################################################] 100%

This has been fixed in CVS, we discussed it on the pacman-dev mailing list a few days ago if you are interested, here is the start of the thread:

Keep in mind that pacman 3 (and thus the pacman-rc package) is active-development software- it _should_ work, but no guarantees are made. However, we do appreciate the testing- you just happened to find this bug later than I did. :)

Ahh, you're right, thanks for pointing that out Dan. I actually had scanned that thread at the time, but I didn't associate it with my problem for some reason. Indeed this can be closed then.

(For what it's worth, I do testing on the rc packages in aaron's directory, so I'll always be a bit late ;-)
