DetailsThe hunspell-en_US package not only includes en_US dictionaries, but also en_PH ones.
This is picked up by Firefox which likes to default to en_PH, even when other dictionaries (in my case en_AU) are installed. The only way I can get Firefox to switch to en_AU, is to manually delete the en_PH dictionaries from /usr/share/hunspell, as recommended on the Firefox support forum. I would like to request that the en_PH files are split off into a separate package, as is done for other English variants. It seems odd that there are separate packages for en_GB, en_CA, and en_AU, but en_PH gets included in en_US. I hope you will consider this request. Many thanks! |

You have my vote. Getting Philippines auto-correction is pretty annoying when you didn't ask for it.
