Description:

As of version 0.16 some access points will report deauthenticated with reason unknown.

According to upstream maintainer James Prestwood:
"Some logic changed which caused FT processing to happen on non-FT connections.
This should not cause failures though, but it appears your AP is
sending out a vendor specific IEs in an invalid order which is causing
a verify function to fail."

James supplied a patch and I confirmed that it fixes the issue.
Should be corrected in the next version.
