It appears that sway was compiled without gdk_pixbuf support. Therefore, it is impossible to use JPG images as wallpapers. When trying to do so, the following message is written to stderr: > [common/background-image.c:49] Failed to read background image: out of memory. > Sway was compiled without gdk_pixbuf support, so only > PNG images can be loaded. This is the likely cause. Additional info: I am using the most recent package version, namely 1.0-1. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add 'output * bg ~/my_wallpaper.jpg fill' to your sway config. 2. Start sway. |
