This does require the latest 1.3.0 version, as it is currently out of date. ... Currently e.g. attempting to run pylint provides the following error message: pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'typed-ast>=1.3.0' distribution was not found and is required by astroid |

I was waiting for an updated typed-ast for pylint, but missed the same requirement for new astroid too... I'm going to wait a bit longer before withdrawing astroid from testing.
