Please enable in kernel config "CONFIG_EFI=y" to be able to install 0.8 on an intel macbook without having to recompile kernel.

Yes, please add that since I am aware of a number of users using arch on their MacBook.

You could also add more patches to the default kernel:
http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mactel-linux/trunk/kernel/mactel-patches-2.6.19/
I have them all compiled in my kernel and it works without problems.

config_efi is set in new 2.6.19.2 and higher
