Details

Since the thumbnailer script inside gnome-desktop got copy-pasted inside nautilus itself (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/commit/673c81cf9f1d68b71041220e6e44624dee44dbfc), gnome-desktop is no longer a dependency of nautilus. It inherited however some of gnome-desktop dependencies, such as bubblewrap, libseccomp and gsettings-desktop-schemas.

As of today (march-2022), gnome-desktop is a dependency of nautilus.
