This eventually crashes my Rhythmbox. I enable the Magnatune plugin and the I click in the webpage that's loaded.

yeah it is broken, and won't fix it.
it probably will be fixed in the next release/cvs

If you won't fix it, at least -- as distro maintainers-- you should submit it to gnome's bugzilla so they fix it...

I think this is fixed in rhythmbox svn
I installed rhythmbox from svn today and I do not get this crash (unless I am talking about another issue).
Now this plugin has been changed a lot in svn so a fix cannot be backported.
