Description:

qt5 5.12.1-1 series causes KDE to thrash the disk for several minutes whenever any application is opened (including the plasma desktop itself).

Downgrading back to the last 5.12.0 versions (keeping all non-qt5 upgrades) solves this. My system uses LUKS for the root partition.
