DetailsOn a fresh install of GNOME (after a new install of .8) there are no default filetype associations forcing the user to manually configure the desktop MIME database. Can be fixed with "update-desktop-database" as root. Perhaps the gnome-mime-data or shared-mime-info packages should be updated to include this in their scripts.

Reason for closing: Fixed
Additional comments about closing: Should be fixed with the current version of gnome, couldn't reproduce it on a clean install and all gnome applications that register MIME types in their desktop files run update-desktop-database now.
