Description:
Since the upgrade of systemd from 239 to 240, my ThinkPad X230 started to crash UI and sound, whenever I pressed Fn key or used Right alt to compose poilish letters: ąćęśłóźżń) and I was in the XFCE session. Changing back to US keyboard mitigated the crashing with alt key at the cost of unavailability to compose Polish letters, but pressing Fn still crashed the UI + sound. It was still possible to access another VTerminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F2, but checking journalctl there didn't gave much insight. Downgrading from 240 to 239 seems to fix the issue. I didn't troubleshoot the issue that thoroughly, e.g. with different language letters, and I don't have another laptop with me to test it right now, but please let me know if you need any further information. Pressing the keys while in vterminal doesn't cause any trouble at first glance. I didn't fill a bug to the upstream yet, but I don't know whether it's on arch or systemd's side yet (I didn't try to compile systemd from sources). Additional info: * [testing] repo. * Desktop Environemnt: XFCE. * Laptop: ThinkPad x230. Steps to reproduce: * make sure you use testing repo and upgrade your systemd to 240, * login to XFCE desktop, * press Fn, * observe system hanging. |

I can confirm this.
I'm using Finnish keyboard layout. Pressing key above the tab key to produce § char or pressing that key with shift key will crash UI. I can move windows around with mouse but they will not update their contents after releasing the mouse key. The only way is to kill Xorg server with the key combination of Ctrl+Alt+Backspace.
Downgrading to systemd version 239 helps. No more freezing when trying to compose special letters.
I confirm this issue on XFCE4 and systemd 240 (Desktop) but systemd 240 and Openbox on Lenovo x230 (Laptop) seem to work fine.
