Description:
On MacbookPro11,4 suspend breaks with kernel 4.19.8-arch1-1-ARCH. First time suspend work but any attempt to suspend after that will fail. I did not tweak that much on this machine so I don't think any additional config files and such really matter.

I attached dmesg output, in which you'll see that usb2 is blocking suspending. I also added lsusb -v for that specific device, there is a small difference between pre and post suspend for port 4.

Additional info:
* linux 4.19.8.arch1-1

Steps to reproduce:
On MacbookPro11,4:
suspend, resume and suspend again. Works without gui and without even logging in.

Does it not suspend at all and continues to be usuable? I'm having a similar problem with an Intel desktop where it completely locks up on suspend after updating to 4.19.8 (also, for me seems present on 4.20).

Yes, exactly. After telling the system to suspend, it can't reach suspend mode and remains usable.

I can't reproduce anymore since I handed in the MacbookPro11,4 and got a Dell now, which does not have this issue.

I'm having the same problem on a MacBookPro11,3 (presumably very similar hardware).
This is possibly related to the misbehaving SD card reader on usb2, which does not reappear after the first suspend.

The (so far fruitless) bug report and discussions of the card reader issue are here:
- https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111201
- https://marc.info/?l=linux-usb&m=151487603631643&w=2

Apparently with earlier kernel versions this just did not cause subsequent suspends to fail.

Is this still an issue?
