Additional comments about closing:  Aparently an apachectl return status issue. I duno why roman didn't close.

Is that really wrong output. When you try to start the daemon the second time, it is already started and thus done. Same with stopping multiple time. it could be more informative, but its not wrong...

It is confusing.
I think it is apachectl's bug/feature that it doesn't fail when server is already started or already stopped.
rc.d/httpd can check if /var/run/daemons/httpd exists to not try to start or stop daemon for the second time... :-/
OK I agree this is a bit overkill. :-P
Whoever will maintain apache - feel free to close this report.
