Description:
I don't see the appicon in gnome shell 3.30.2

Additional info:
* 0.7.1-1
* I've tried with both dark/light icon


Steps to reproduce:

- install variety
- login into the gnome shell
- you should see an app icon indicator, you don't see it.

:) That would have been a real miss on my side.

I did start it indeed. It's also set to run on startup.

If I 'start' it again it will show the preferences panel.

hmm, I don't believe GNOME has any kind of system try anymore, where are you expecting to see it?

GNOME Shell does not support tray icons anymore. You can use an extension, which implements it, e.g.:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gnome-shell-extension-tray-icons/
